What Are Male Masculinisation Dermal Fillers?
Some clients naturally have softer or more feminine facial features, while others seek masculinisation as part of their gender affirmation journey. Our male masculinisation treatment is designed to enhance key facial structures using dermal fillers, helping you achieve the strong, confident look you desire.
This bespoke treatment uses hyaluronic acid-based fillers—a substance found naturally in the body—to restore volume, sculpt facial contours, and define masculine features. When injected, the fillers work with your body’s water and collagen, providing shape, firmness, and a more structured look.
Each treatment is entirely customised, with our experienced clinicians focusing on areas that align with your individual goals and desired facial aesthetic.
The treatment takes around 30 to 45 minutes.
The injection site may be bruised for a few days after treatment,
but you should not have to alter your normal daily activities.
Result seen immediately, or in 8-12 weeks depending on modalities used.
Common but minor side effects include swelling, bruising or tenderness on the injection site.
But these usually pass away within a few days.
Like any medical procedure, there are some risks associated with dermal filler injections
namely bruising, swelling, redness and pain at the injection site.
However, these side effects should subside within a few days after treatment.
We advise you to avoid strenuous exercise or extreme heat for 48 hours after your treatment.
For the best possible results, we may give other tips immediately following treatment
and a 2-week follow-up appointment is recommended.

Are dermal fillers safe?
Dermal fillers are widely acknowledged as a minimally invasive and safe cosmetic procedure. This is primarily due to the use of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present in the body, in the treatment. Because hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring, there is no known risk of an allergic reaction, making dermal fillers a well-tolerated option for many individuals.
Whats in dermal fillers for males?
Dermal fillers primarily consist of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body that has the ability to bind water within the skin. These fillers are formulated with a gel-like consistency and are specifically engineered to stay in the targeted areas. During the procedure, Nuovo Clinic will skillfully administer the filler at precisely chosen injection sites and expertly massage it into place to achieve the desired results.
How long do dermal fillers last?
The amount of time which the results last will vary from person to person, but this is usually between six and 18 months.
Are there any special steps for aftercare?
Most people are able to continue with normal activities with immediate improvement in their appearance. Some will have some redness, pin prick marks, possibly swelling- particularly in the lips. Possibly bruising. Any swelling and bruising may be more apparent the next day.
Make-up should not be worn for 12 hours
You are advised to avoid alcohol, vigorous exercise, sun bathing, and extremes of heat or cold for 14 days post treatment. These activities have been found to increase and prolong swelling.
Swelling may worsen in the first 24 hours, and then should settle within the first few days. Cold packs can be helpful in reducing swelling. As a consequence of swelling, the product may feel harder or lumpy and you may notice some asymmetry. The final result may be judged at 2 weeks.
Bruising may take a few days to appear, arnica can be helpful in clearing bruising. It is advisable to avoid aspirin and alcohol for 12-48 hours after treatment. Tenderness should settle as swelling goes down.
Athletes should be aware some ingredients in the product may show a positive in ‘anti-dope tests’
Please contact your practitioner if redness, tenderness, itching or swelling worsens after 3 days, rather than settling.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns.
Hyaluronic Acid administration can result in anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction) which in itself is life threatening and requires immediate medical attention. Symptoms of a severe allergic reaction can include shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing, difficulty swallowing, swelling of the tongue, eyelids, lips, hoarseness of the voice, stomach pain, nausea or diarrhoea. If you have any of the above symptoms please report to your nearest Accident and Emergency Department or call 999 for an ambulance.
How long do the fillers last?
Dermal filler injections are generally considered minimally invasive, and when a topical anaesthetic is applied, the procedure is often well-tolerated and considered relatively pain-free at our Essex clinic. However, individual pain perception can vary. It’s important to note that some individuals may experience temporary swelling and redness at the injection sites, but these side effects typically subside within 3 to 7 days.
