What is Lesion Removal & Mole Checking?
CryoPen therapy is a non-invasive treatment used for the removal of skin lesions. It works by using extreme cold temperatures to effectively freeze and destroy the lesions. The pen releases a fine jet of nitrous oxide under high pressure, this freezes the affected tissue and removals.
Mole Checking with MapMyMole:
Our mole-checking service is a review service using a dermascope to thoroughly examine the moles. The images captured are then shared with a team of specialist dermatologists for review. Results usually arrive within 72 hours of review. Our Mole service is highly sought after as it helps to detect early signs of skin cancers and other conditions.
Each session typically lasts between 10 to 30 minutes depending on the number and type of lesions being treated or moles being reviewed.
Minimal to no downtime is required. Patients can return to their daily activities immediately after treatment. After Cryopen treatment, the area may be slightly sensitive after treatment.
Results from lesion removal will be seen after the full number of treatments have been complete, this is when the lesion falls off. Usually, 3 treatments on average provide the best results. Mole checking results are usually received within 72 hours of review, but may take longer in some cases.
Patients may experience a cold sensation during lesion removal and slight discomfort. Mole checking is non-invasive and pain-free.
Minor redness or blistering may occur post-lesion removal. Mole checking has no associated risks.
Specific aftercare instructions will be provided based on the treatment performed to ensure optimal healing and results.
